YOGA for healthy ‘mind, body & soul’

The ‘International Yoga Day‘ started with our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressing around 30,000 people at Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex. He urged everyone present there to embrace yoga as a way of healthy living especially to fight diabetes.

 “Make YOGA a part of your life,” he said. “Just as the mobile phone is now a part of your life, make yoga too a part of your life.”

All around the world, various events were organised to advocate the benefits of Yoga. Thousands of people gathered at the Times Square, New York today to practice yoga.
Yoga has its origin in India. It’s a 5000-year-old practice which binds the mind and the body. The United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as the International Yoga day on 11th June 2014.
The health benefits of Yoga which are not unknown to us are innumerable and well propagated by many of our celebrities who follow a healthy way of living. Following are a few of them for whom Yoga for healthy has become the part and parcel of life.

Jennifer Aniston

Does she even look more than 30? Well, she is 47. The credit of being in an exceptionally good shape goes to Yoga and her longtime yoga teacher, wellness advisor, and dear friend, Mandy Ingber. She literally inspires us.


Adam Levine

Grammy winner and the lead singer of Maroon 5 has a secret to his killer looks and spectacular hot body. It’s Yoga. Adam practices yoga for 2 hours daily! His commitment to yoga is really incredible. He has vowed that he would never go back to the gym, but shall remain loyal to yoga for life.


Nargis Fakhri

“I love to dance so whenever I get free time, I play my favourite songs. I believe in yoga and it helps me maintain my body without getting into any charted regime,” says actor Nargis Fakhri.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

The reason behind Kareena’s toned and stunning body is Yoga. Earlier, she was not a Yoga fan but on being insisted by her yoga trainer, Payal Gidwani, she was able to get herself in the perfect shape.

“Initially when I started yoga classes, I couldn’t lift my feet up above the ground. Payal told me that my thighs are bulky, and I need to tone them down. But now I can throw my feet above my head,” said the actress during the launch of a Yoga book by Payal Gidwani Tiwari.

The famous actress, also a mother of a beautiful baby boy, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is an ardent follower of Yoga.
She even released her DVD Shilpa’s Yoga demonstrating the right way to do yoga exercises and their benefits.
