Emmy Awards 2016: Top 9 looks from the Red Carpet

The 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held on 18th of September, 2016. Every year the awards aim to honor the best in U.S. prime time television programming.
Game of Thrones and Veep took home the Emmy awards for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, respectively.

Game of Thrones also won for Outstanding Direction (Miguel Sapochnik) and Outstanding Writing (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss), both for the penultimate episode of the season ‘Battle of the Bastards’. The show has broken the record for the highest number of Emmy Awards won by any fictional series.

As the host of Emmy Awards 2016 Jimmy Kimmel said,

“Fortunately for everyone in this room there are more shows and more roles than ever before and more diversity than ever before. This year’s nominees are the most diverse ever, and the only thing we value more than diversity is congratulating ourselves on how much we value diversity. The Oscars are now telling people we’re one of their closest friends – we’re not by the way.”
