By on January 9, 2016

Each day in every way, it’s getting better and better. Yes, we are talking of the world’s largest social network: Facebook that is now the largest country in the world in terms of monthly active users. In order to become more useful to its core audiences, it is now experimenting with multiple, interest based news feeds that will make its news feeds section a lot more diverse and user friendly.

Currently being offered on Facebook’s mobile app, these customizable news feeds lets users chose between a general news feed and one that caters to their area of interest like travel, food, electronic gadgets, and lifestyle. Simply put, you as a user get access to a digital newspaper that is made up of all popular newspapers.

Still in the beta stage!

Yes, these interest based news feeds are not yet widely available on desktops and it’s not yet clear when it will actually happen. This functionality was introduced purely by sensing the latent demand amongst monthly active users who wanted to view more conversations with regard to their area of interest.

FB Marketplace on the anvil!

Another feature being tested is Facebook’s marketplace feature that lets its users make impulse purchases by clicking on an ad. Based on the pages a user has liked in the past, shopping suggestions will be offered and the marketplace icon  will replace the messenger icon on the mobile app that will pushed to the top-left. This way user’s will reach the landing page of the shopping site in a jiffy.
