Joy Mitra for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer’14
A tribute to Rituporno Ghosh, ‘Chokher Bali’, the collection for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer’14 by Joy Mitra was a classic example of intricate work amalgamated with rich craftsmanship!
Portraying his true bong self, Joy Mitra’s collection oozed of traditional, age old techniques of intricate embroidering. From flowing anarkalis and tunics with ornate embroidery, each and every attire had a delicately elegant Bengali look.
The frilly silhouettes with golden zari work and black borders looked classy!
Akki Dokie totally loved the potli’s!
Special mention for the exclusive zardozi and white pearl bead work on all ensembles.
Dhoti bottoms, crop tops, jacket tops and draped anarkalis were some of the other highlights of the show.
There was a bit of men’s ethnic wear too…
Fabulous is the word for the collection… Here are some other fine shots from the show!
And of course, how could I miss out on the Show Stopper for the evening: Raima Sen!
Her attire was absolutely stunning, though, it was in complete contrast to the creme, black and gold thematic line of the collection.
Here’s a closer look at what she wore… Fit to be worn by a bride, isn’t it?!
Overall, a great show… Glad I could reach in time to watch it
